Burmese Martial Arts..........

First of all, i post some documentaries from Antonio Graceffo( any FB buddies might know this personality, he is the "Brooklyn Monk")

PS: Most of my impressions from Burmese marital arts are very lethal and brutal style.(BTW, Shingo might know more real side of it)

I have been looking for something close to what I learnt, but I haven't come across any.

Talking of the burmese style I learnt, I heard the grand master was Chinese-burmese who escaped from the massacre in his village done by the Japanese army in World War I or II. Ironically, I learnt the style in NZ.

Probably because of his Chinese background, the style is kind similar to 客家 and 広東 styles in some aspects like having five animals, but it is a close combat style using knees, elbows and takedown just like any Malay styles. The aim of the style is to immobilise and kill opponenets instantly, so it tends to rely on muscular force and speed.

I feel the style is not as sophisticated as Chinese martial arts in terms of power generation and fighting theories.
So, it may not be satisfactory for those who practise for a long term and deepen their skills of the arts.

I am happy to show some moves if anyone is interested (but it is getting rusty as I don't practise).

In the coming meetings should you be able to spare a few minutes for me I would be interested to see these techniques and learn some from you if you would share them.. i'm always interested to find out about new systems and try to learn some new things, even though i know i am not much skilled in anything
