There are a lot of form claimed that they are the Big spear but we believe that this is almost impossible to do the flower spear with a Big spear

From Wu bei lu, the da qiang or big spear was practiced till it can pierce armor.
The spear used today does not have such quality, too light, soft and the head is too heavy.

The heavy spear is used today to train power.

Today spear is probably developed upon on dual used spear, one on one dual. But not ideal for battle use, where team is fighting against team.

If u tried to use the modern Heavy spear to practice pierce, u will find it is very powerful

Yeah.....but having power is one thing. But remember the story of have all the eggs in one basket.
And if the spear body is too soft to support the head, that can cause problem.

There is one interesting movement , i suspect is what is called Ling Mao Bu Shu 靈貓捕鼠, i think in 器王正眼　無隱錄.

This is what i mean by most of us get into weapon sparring too early, not enough foot work, dont know how to use the weapon properly, not enough drilling, not enough speed, not enough basics....

完全同意和明白你的說法,基本的手眼步法身當然應該先練好. 這條錄影水平也高,支持了你所說的何講基本的要求.但我只看到清這錄影中拿槍的人只使出札,看不清有使出欄,擺,崩的中式鎗法技巧,請問有沒有中國式刀鎗對賽的錄影,讓我開開眼界呢?

I doubt there is any chinese spear vs sword clip up to this standard, unfortunatlly no at the moment.
Maybe there is, just not on the clips.
The tech demoed are movements well recorded in Wu Bei Lu or 器王正眼　無隱錄. Please double check. Called 摩旗 (mo qi shi).
That is spear tech. without wrist movement or turning.

Tank, you got to understand, the kendoka in this clip must be way better than the spear person to beat him.
Actually, he is. But if you dont think so, means you still got big room to grow.

Infact, He needs to have better understanding of spear than the opponent.

As for the single hand chinese sword, it requires even greater skill to beat the spear.
So i hope i dont offend anyone making comments before (about sparring too early). But that is the truth.

In the past, zha is practiced for three years before lang and nan. You get the picture.
And shame on me, my zha is still not solid enough.
Even the zha in the clip still has room for improvement. What do you guys think?

Of course, I still got big room to grow. I am just 1 yr old (in the world of martial). I am glad if you teach me more

haha, I feel your blood that it is so easily boiling up while you are handling the matters about martial. The discussing group about martial is very boring in HK. They are always talking about Wing Chun only...

True. When you are on the same level, sword vs spear is a sucide.
But i always wonder how samurai did it and became so famous in the old days.
Keep in mind, 無隱錄 may not necessary have the best insight on how sword is used.

Check this out 紀効新書:

此自倭犯中國始有之｡

i will recommand this book cheap price and all in one book. Talk about Miao Dao, Spear and staff

這段影片在網路上的時間已經很久了，應該已有不少人看過，不過似乎比較少見到相關的背景介紹，就讓敝人在此稍微說明一下。

尾張貫流是由尾張藩的藩士，津田權之丞信之(西元1655-1698) 所創，所以也叫津田貫流或津田流，現傳承多在愛知縣。津田權之丞信之為尾張藩馬廻役津田太郎左衛門知信的次子，幼時就開始學習多種武術，尤好槍術，他曾向虎尾三安的門人，森勘兵衛學習過伊東流的槍術，勘兵衛離開尾張藩後，又和也是擅長槍術的尾張佐分利流裡的佐分利円右衛門忠村學習。在寛文10年(西元 1670年) 以16歲的年紀，就獲得免許證明，之後他繼續研究，終悟出「橫手長短心理一貫」的心法，大約的意思是「兩手在一側，由長而短，心裡只想著一貫而出」，因而成就貫流。

他因為創編出這套槍法，在元祿5年(西元1692) 38歲時，受賜300石，而成為尾張藩的槍奉行(ぶぎょう)。不過，可惜才44歲時 (西元1698年)就英年早逝，由其子津田權之丞親信繼承衣缽，成為藩主德川吉通的槍術指南役，藩主德川吉通還特別禁止將此流派的技術外傳給其他藩，故它也被稱為「御止流」。

在這個流派裡，認為槍、劍二藝相輔相成，就像「車的兩輪和鳥的雙翼一樣」(車の両輪、 鳥の雙翼の如し)，除了這句還有另一個說法流傳，是「沒有人不懂槍法卻在談論刀法的、也沒有人不懂刀法卻在談論槍法的」(槍法を知らずして刀術を語ることなかれ、刀法を知らずして槍術を語ることなかれ) ，敝人認為這當中的想法十分有啟發，也正是如此，這個流派裡同時也需要一併練習從新陰流、神當流、円明流傳來的劍術。

尾張柳生和尾張貫流既流傳在同一個藩內，照理來說應早有互相交流研究，不過，以譜繫上來說，是在第七世時，才由在之前一篇柳生新陰流を學ぶ的文章中，有提過的神戶金七先生所繼承，再傳給他的學生，也就是名古屋・春風館道場的館主加藤伊三男。加藤先生在此段影片中也有作示範講解，同樣都是公開尾張貫流當中最重要的技巧，值得玩味。
