TKD vs Muay Thai in China

I find this quite dissappointing to know the quality of martial arts in China.

Do you guys think this is just some random thing or some high quality thing?

It just a private friendly sparring. What quality you expected?

I think the TKD guy's skill is better.

The video tell us that no one martial art style better than the other. Good or not just depend on people's quality.

Well... I think if the rules dont allow someone to hit his opponent's head, then the TKD guy is perfectly skilled and well balanced,
I think I will get owed if I face him in the competition. one more thing to be notice: this TKD guy is from the system of I.T.F not
the W.T.F we know, I T F focus more on real sparring and grappling skills, but for some reason they don't have a successful marketing,
it is heard that ITF will train even harder then the normal TKD.

Agree, ITF shows TKD in a more combactive aspect.

The TKD boxer look like to use Thai angle kick(掃腿) more than the Thai boxer and used a lot of the technique of CLF(掃,鞭) in hand form as well, what a mix. Over all the TKD is much better in quality, it shows right in the beginning.

TKD guy is taller than the Muay Thai guy. His skill is better 2

Let me have a comment on the clip because I did ITF in Japan.

ITF is more like Kick boxing style compared to WTF, because the founder of ITF learnt Karate in Japan and back to North Korea to develop ITF (kick based with lots of karate punches). Then his students developed WTF in South Korea. ITF system is basically sparring oriented. I used to do warm ups and lots of sparring in every session. So, it is really competitive kick boxing without low kicks.

Now back to the clip. I didn't spot any low kicks happening, means that they used ITF rules (punching and kicking to head and body but no low kicks, knees, elbows). So, the Thai boxer might have had problems with getting into ITF guy without using low kicks, elbows and knees. Also, ITF guy is much taller and reach is longer. Well, I admit that ITF guy is very well trained.
