My name is Ron Goninan 師父的荣戈尼南 and I have spent the last 36 years in the pursuit of martial arts excellence I am the Founder & Chief Instructor of the White Crane Research Institute 白鶴拳研究中心. Recognised in China as an Instructor of White Crane Boxing, I am the Australian White Crane Boxing Dissemination Branch Director and Representative of the prestigious YongChun YiYun Wushu Research Society.

I am based in Wellington in the Central West of NSW and am a member of the NSW Chin Woo Association.

Pardon my lack of knowledge. Are your lineage in any relation with the feeding crane family from Tainan, Taiwan?
Just curious. Crane fist is a very top martial art.

Overlord: No my White Crane is connected to the Calling Crane (Minghequan 鳴鶴拳) of Great Master Ruan Dong. It is done in a very soft internal manner similar to that seen within the Huang Shen Shyan Lineage. our Wu Xing Shou (Five Elements Hands ) is similar to the Feeding Crane style though.

Nearly missed you there.
I have never had the chance to get in contact with White Crane in the past.
But I have studied the Shaolin 5 Ancestors Kung Fu (少林五祖拳) in the past and one of them is White Crane.
Do you know does that have anything to do with your Kung Fu?

I would guess that the Crane element in 5 Ancestors Kung Fu is connected to White Crane Boxing but am not sure of the details. I will ask my friend Sifu Yap Leong and get back to you on this.

I do hoe to make it to one or more of your gatherings in the new year and am happy to establish links with the Chinese Martial Arts community of Sydney!
