Battle of Red Cliff (Australian release) *Beware*

I watched the Battle of Red Cliff (Australian release)
Very dissapointing.......

I saw the original in China. Part 1 on DVD & part 2 at a cinema in Guangzhou & loved it.

They have edited the Australian version putting the 2x movies into one DVD.
In doing so they have cut so much out that some of the sub plots don't make any sense.

If you plan to watch it - try & get a Chinese version with parts 1 & 2.
Its pretty long, but well worth it.

You learnt a lot Chinese culture so you might love the original one.

I dont think that the movie will make sence becuz it is edited from a 5 hours movie.

Do you think the original film will be popular if it show on cinema?

I really want to see the respond from some foreigner who dont have too much knowledge in chinese culture

If they were going to play the original in cinemas they'd either need to do it in parts, or as a marathon. I'm not sure the average Westerner (who doesn't have an interest in Three Kingdoms/Chinese culture in general) would have the attention span to sit through a 5 hour film.

I don't mean to generalise.

For what it's worth, I thought the original was great.
